If you're afraid to go out at nighttime depending on all the fearsome stories about the bad side of New York, you should have in mind that any big city will get more crime depending on the more people it has. It doesn't matter whether you stay in a small town or in a big city, it is absolutely important to use common sense and tune into your instincts. You are more of an open target for con men and other people who prey on the unsuspicious if you act like a vacationer. Have in mind that you keep your bucks in a wallet or purse that is close to your body and kept to the front of you. Prepare your bucks privately. At night stay on main streets and take a cab back to your motel. Avoid going on a dark street or uncertain path. Just primarily stay alert and be smart to get the most from your nightlife in the Big Apple!
